Diwali Cultural Show 2009

ISW Hosted the Diwali Cultural  2009 at Marlborough Middle School on October 24th 2009.

Lights Camera Action and the curtains opened to a variety evening program had everyone’s foot tapping and hands clapping.  It was “Choreographer and Artist Special”, watching the choreographers performing with their students made us realize why over these many years we have had such tremendous performances. 

They were rhythm in motion, young and experienced choreographers fell in step with their students so harmoniously and blended in with the role they chose in the dance that one could not make out that they were the choreographers.   The joy on the children’s faces dancing with their teacher was something to behold.  An evening filled with dances and songs was followed by dinner catered by India Café of Shrewsbury.

The President, Ragini Seth, likened all the volunteers to Diyas which make all of the ISW events so bright and welcoming.  She included the Cultural School Teachers some of whom are former students of the school, who devote their Sunday mornings teaching the youth languages, culture and traditions.  Meera Gupta, past President, Bharati Biswas former Cultural Chairperson, Vijay Jain past Assistant Treasure, Ernest Gulla former Member at Large and Punit Shah who was instrumental in developing the new website were also recognized for their continuing dedication to the organization.

Scholarships sponsored by EclinicalWorks, Dr Satya & Mrs Sheema Mitra, Dr. Sahdev & Mrs Carolyn Passey, Mr Kuldeep & Mrs Anita Rana, Mrs Shaikh & Mrs Lucky Hoque, Mrs. Rani Nautiyal, Mr Suban & Kokila Krishnamoorthy and Mr Raj & Mrs. Shiamin Melville  were awarded to students for acedemic excellence and for being a good citizen. Charvi Tyagi, Sneha Subramaniam, Saharsh Mehta, Aditya Yadavalli got the acedemic excellece awards and Ranita Ghosh, Prathisa Nalamati, Ramya Tammisetti, Rajalakshmi Pyda recived the citizenship awards.
