Events

The India Society of Worcester hosts a variety of Events on a yearly basis for all ages. From major yearly events like India Day and Diwali Functions to Weekly/Bi-Weekly/Monthly Health Workshops, Cultural Programs and Seminars.

April 3rd	Showcase India	"Bade mian to bade mian, Chote mian subhanalla!" goes the old bollywood cliche. Check out what our young members can do as the India Youth Group puts on their annual gala event.
April 10th	Meet and Greet	Join the Party, Join the Fun. Meet young, interesting people and enjoy a night of music, karoke, dance and all the fun.
May 16th	Cultural School Graduation
June 27th	Asian Festival
July 25th	ISW Annual Picnic	Annual ISW Picnic. Potluck lunch - This year's theme was "Street food" Games for adults and kids. You can come and play with us or just sit on your blanket and just CHILL....It's your choice. The park has Basket ball court, Volley ball court. a nice walking trail and we bring stuff to play Musical Chair, Pittoo and Cricket. You can bring your own ideas and teach us a new game. We are totally up for it.
July 31st	ISW at Fenway	Jai Ho! - Indian Heritage Day at Fenway Park
August 8th	Annual India Day Festival	ISW's gala event for the year ! They Mayor Worcester declared this day the Indian Heritage day. Scrumptious Indian Food Shop for Indian clothes, jewelry, music, Free Medical Screening Mehndi (temproary Henna tattoos ) Children's play area organized by IYG.
September 12th	Janmashtami
Saturday & Suday September 25th and 26th	Spirit of Shrewsbury
Oct 9th	Navratri Garba	An evening of Dandiya, dance and live music
Oct 30th	Diwali Puja	Diwali Puja that will bring back memories of home ! Bhajans, Diwali Puja, Aarti and potluck dinner followed by Antakshari game. ISW Members only.
Nov 13th	Diwali Cultural Program	Annual Diwali Cultural Program. Be Creative & Show your talent. This year it will be a Choreographer & Artist Special

January 24th Snow date - Jan 31st	ISW General Body Meeting	Overview of ISW activities for last year. Elections for: One Board Of Trustees Position Three Nominating Committee Positions ISW Members Only.
Saturday February 13th	Maha Shivratri	Celebrate the birth of Lord Shiva this evening program. The Celebration will start with Puja followed by Bhajans, Aarti and Prasad.
Sunday March 14th	Saraswati Puja	Saraswati Puja by ISW Cultural School children. Tentetive Program : Children bhajans Donation of books Bhajans Puja Prasad We will also be collecting NEW childrens books during the puja. These books will be donated to a local shelter.
Friday March 19th	Spring Garba	Welcome to the advent of Spring by dancing to our very own "Jhankar's" live Dandia music. Bring your own dandia or purchase at the door
Saturday March 20th	Ram Navami	Puja, Sunderkhand Path Aarti followed by Prasad Please bring Ramayan with you if you have one.
