ISW's own Punit Shah selected as finalist in MassChallenge contest.

Punit Shah, an active ISW and former IYG member, and his startup Zazu was selected as a finalist by MassChallenge, the largest US based business plan competition, from among over 400 entries received to compete for the ultimate Million Dollar prize. As a finalist, Punit and his team will be incubated at new tech incubator digs at Fan Pier for the next three months in preparation for the final showdown.
MassChallenge was launched earlier this year with the support of the Governor of Massachusetts, the Mayor of Boston and dozens of local organizations to help bring innovative startups to the state with $1 Million in prizes for the finalists. The 110 finalists selected this week have the next three months to hone their ideas and business plans before getting an opportunity to make their final pitch to a panel of experts including serial entrepreneur Desh Deshpande and Vertex founder Josh Boger among others.
Zazu was launched by Punit - his third startup - and a team of two other Northeastern colleagues after coming up with the idea during Startup Weekend in Boston. Their product, described as the "Smartest Damn Alarm Clock ever", turns your smart phone into your personal alarm and assistant wakening you with your preferred news, information and updates. In addition to reaching the final stage for MassChallenge, Zazu was also one of 20 teams selected by the Pepsico Challenge from over 400 entries to present at the Pepsico Summit in Purchase NY.
