Hasya Kavi Sammelan 2012
Hasya Kavi Sammelan at ISW 2012 – A hit with members and others !
For a 6th year in a row ISW hosted the Hasya Kavi Sammelan (an International Hindi Association production). It was a fun filled evening of humor and laughter.
As a prelude to the show our very own Senthil Sivakumar warmed up the audience with jokes and a comedy act.
The main event started with Mr. Alok Mishra introducing the well establised Kavi's, humorists and singers - Gajendra Solanki, Dr. Sarita Sharma and Sanjay Jhala.
The Kavi's with their humorous and satirical recitals kept a packed audience engaged, entertained and glued to their seats the entire time. The Kavi's broached various topics to humor the audience with subjects ranging from politics, mythology, concerns of the Indian diaspora, and yes matters of the heart and many challenges of domestic relationships.
In the audience were present not only members of ISW, but folks from Boston area, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. One of the guests mentioned that given the long drive she was skeptical about the show being worth the drive, but after the show she was ecstatic and said it was well worth it and would definitely be visiting us at the next show.
No event is complete without great Indian khana. At the break there was mouth watering Chole Bhature provided by Gurnam Catering, vendor hand picked by Mr. Shri Garg who would not settle for anything but the best. Food was a great hit with all, our guests could not help asking where the food was catered from....now you know.
Thanks to the effort, hard work and experience of the volunteers (Nithya Pathalam, Vikram Pathalam, Arya Moenka, Mrs Lucky Shaikh), web committee and the executive committee the event planning and execution were timely and flawless.
