Christmas Celebrations 2015----------------- Ernest Gulla

The Annual ISW Christmas celebration were held on December 5, 2015 at Floral Street School in Shrewsbury. The beautifully decorated lighted Christmas tree in the center of green wreaths with red Christmas bows  and green garlands, with children and adults in festive Indian attire brought the Christmas Spirit to the large Indian gathering.  Mr. Sudarshan Komanapalli of Manna International  brought the story of Christmas recounting the wonder of Christmas and the reason behind the season. Ms. Rebecca Mason portrayed the Grace of Christmas through a lyrical dance Performance.

Ashish Cowlagi, Vice President of the Society welcomed the audience and  Puneet Kohli, Secretary brought the Christmas greetings from the members of the Executive Committe, Board of Trustes and the members of the Society. Puneet Kohli also presented an overview of the 2015 activities of the Society. The program was moderated by Dr. Asha Komanapalli who kept the audience entertained.

The Christmas celebration were dedicated to ISW Crisis committee. The ISW President Mr.Rajiv Dayal recognized the fine women & men who serve in the ISW Crisis committee . The Crisis committee has been serving and supporting individuals and families who face unfortunate situations in our Community by being the family away from their families. A Plaque was presented by the President to the representatives of Crisis committee. Mrs.Hasu Patel and Mrs.Carolyn Passey accepted the plaque on behalf of the committee. Mrs. Usha  Verma, the chair and many of other members of the committee could not attend. Rajiv Dayal, President of ISW bought Christmas greetings and Mr & Mrs.Dayal cut the traditional Christmas Cake .

The  hall was filled with the sounds of joyous Christmas carols in several Indian languages representing various states and languages of India,. A Christmas medley from young children, played with traditional.indian musical instruments, harmonium and multiple tablas brought the Indian touch to the Christmas celebration in America.  The surprise appearance of Santa  brought cheer and excitement to the children and Santa gave gifts  to over 100 children and many memorable pictures were taken. Everyone enjoyed the delicious homemade south Indian vegetarian food and once again , the JOY, PEACE and LOVE of the Christmas was experienced  by 400 + who came to join in the celebrations.
