ISW Christmas celebrations - 2016

ISW Christmas celebrations 2016.....................................Ernest Gulla 
 
The Annual ISW Christmas celebration was held on December 3,  2016 at Floral Street School in Shrewsbury. The beautifully decorated lighted Christmas tree, with green wreaths , red Christmas bows  and green garlands  surrounded by children and families in festive Indian attire brought the Christmas Spirit to the large Indian gathering.  Dr. Thomas Idiculla, McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School , presented the story of Christmas  giving  hope to the hurting world, societies and families with the reason for the season. .Mr. Ashish Cowlagi,  Vice President , ISW welcomed the audience and  Mr. Shaikh Hoque, ISW  presented the overview of the  2016 ISW activities.
 Mr. Rajoo Ananth from ISW  Crisis committee spoke about the work of the Crisis committee in reaching out to hurting families facing challenging situations  in our community in Greater Worcester area . The event organizing families presented a gift to help families in need in our community. Mr. Jim Kane Vice Chair & Mr. Moe DePalo , Chair , Board of selectman from the town of Shrewsbury, gave Christmas greetings to the community. 
Mr. Rajiv Dayal, President of ISW brought  Christmas greetings and Mr & Mrs. Dayal cut the traditional  ISW Christmas Cake . The  hall was filled with the sounds of joyous Christmas carols in several Indian languages representing various states and languages of India . The surprise appearance of Santa  brought cheer & excitement to the children and Santa gave gifts  to over 150 children and little children where thrilled as parents took pictures with Santa.  Everyone enjoyed the delicious homemade south Indian vegetarian food and once again , the JOY, PEACE and LOVE of the Christmas was experienced  by over 350 people who came to join in the Celebration.
