India Day 18 - Aug 4th @ 2:00pm India Society of Worcester goes back to the DCU Center, Worcester for 2018 India Day celebrations. The Theme for this year is Colors of India

 Join us for a Fun day of Indian Dances, Food, Kids Activities, Free Health Stop, Meena Bazzar and much more. Join us for a FREE EVENT

Where - DCU Center, Worcester

Date - Saturday August 4th, 2018

Time - 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM 

Parade of states starts at 2:00 PM 

Parking Details
  • Parking will be available at - Major Taylor Blvd. Municipal Garage: 30 Major Taylor Blvd. Worcester, MA
  • Special parking rate will be $1 for everyone entering between 12pm - 9pm paid at the entrance.
  • This location is across the street from DCU center and is preferred option for everyone.
  • For Vendors, Choreographers and Exhibitors entering before 12pm we will have special tickets.
 
Event Day Details
  • Event starts at 2pm with a Parade and followed by Cultural program
  • Meena bazaar will open at 2pm
  • Food vendors will be open at 2pm

Cultural Program Theme - Colors of India 

Theme Colors of India
 
1. Parade -  We would like to call out for the participation to ALL ( Indian and Non Indian folks around the area) by getting involved in the Parade showcasing the different culture from their country / region/ culture/tradition/celebration  ( some of the examples  - ,Holi Festival with multiple colors, Different types of Diyas/ Lanterns celebrating Diwali, Chinese New Year celebration,etc) -
 
2.Stage performances - 
 
Few guidelines for your performance :-
  • Each performance NOT more than 5 mins.
  • Minimum 8 performers in each performance MUST be there.
  • Dance/Drama/Musical  featuring blend of two cultures/ traditions/celebrations.
  • No Filmy songs allowed.
  • Adult and Kids participation encouraged.
  • Costumes of that specific tradition or culture should be represented in the performance.
  • No overlapping of participants allowed
