India Day 2019

 WOW!! - What A Show

ISW Wrapped up its India Day 2019 at DCU center on August 10th with an amazing show of Culture, Connections, Food, Meena Bazaar, Kids Zone and for first time this year -   Career Support & Guidance seminar.

 DCU center was transformed into a colorful display of India. Stage was humming with songs and dances form all regions of India. Meena bazaar had a mix of everything from Indian Ethnic wear to Financial advising to Karate. Many partner non-profit organizations were on display to share their missions.

ISW Career Support Group Initiatve

India Society of Worcester's Career Support Group (CSG ) Initiative - Monday Augusr 12, 2019

Amid the pomp and splendor of India Day, India Society of Worcester introduces another community support initiative.

For the first time this year during India Day celebrations, ISW had a session / booth for  Career Support & Guidance spearheaded by  ISW Director Dr. Arumugham (Ragoo) Raghunathan. The goal was to provide professionals in transition or in between jobs a platform to meet and get feedback on their resumes, cover letters and job search strategies. An additional objective was to enable networking opportunities with local thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and volunteers who have been successful in their areas of expertise - like biotech, pharmaceuticals, IT, Healthcare and entrepreneurship.

Shrewsbury Students Honored

Four Shrewsbury High School (SHS) students were recognized for their recent achievements in science by the Shrewsbury School Committee on May 15 at Town Hall.

Republic Day - 2019

Republic Day 2019 --------------------- Sharad Mehta

This year the 70th Republic Day was celebrated in India with the usual splendor and glory. There were a few highlights that made this year’s parade special.

This year is the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. To honor this occasion, the Chief Guest for the Republic Day parade was the President of South Africa, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa . This is befitting, because it was in Transvaal, South Africa that Gandhiji created the Tolstoy Farm and developed his concept of “Satyagraha” (Non-violent Resistance).
