Khana Khazana - 2018

The delicious event by the India Society of Worcester was held on May 5th at India Center in Shrewsbury. 

The event was a Desi Master Chef Challenge Contest for passionate Chefs. 70+ attendees, enjoyed this brand new event organized by ISW by tasting and admiring variety of delicacies at one place. There were 60% newcomers for this event at ISW.

The event opened up with a short demonstration by Anuradha Bhogle, a creative artist showed how beautifully one can make flowers, butterflies, ladybugs and many more creations out of Fruits and Vegetables.

The contest began with, the Judges visiting each contestant's food table and tasting their food, asking them questions, complimenting food and evaluating.

India Day 2017 at DCU

ISW's India Day celebration on August 5th, 2017 at the DCU Center, Worcester was a great success.  people from the Worcester community and beyond attended. Hundreds of performers put on a diverse mix of song and dances from different States of India. The food vendors provided a delicious variety of foods from chaat, chicken pops, noodles, sabzis, and much more. And those who love to shop were not disappointed, hey had plenty of saris, jewelry, and crafts to choose from.


Mayor Joseph Petty of Worcester read a declaration recognizing India Day and the 70th anniversary of India's independence.

Karvachauth - 2017

Karvachauth 2017 .......................................................................................Bhumika Seth

The annual event was a success with over 60 women participating in the evening puja.  All of the married women, dressed in their beautiful clothes had been observing their fast during the day and waiting for the moon to appear.  Many stayed after the puja to enjoy a dinner with their families.  This event has been held for 4 years at the ISW Center and  each year it grows with new faces being welcomed to the community.

Ganeshotsav 2017

Ganeshotsav 2017 ………………………………..Sarita Deshpande

This year's Ganeshotsav was celebrated at ISW with lot of energy and enthusiasm. In spite of heavy rain, the event kicked off with a procession of Ganapati in a wonderful Palakhi, around India Center. The grand welcome of Ganesha was done by the presentation of Lezim, Dhol and Flag. 
  The decoration and entertainment theme of this year's Ganeshotsav was 'Inspirational Women'. The amazing huge Indian Flag, map of India and Bharat Mata made a great decor for Ganapati Bappa.
