India Day 2009

It was a day filled with joy and enjoyment and lot of food. The program started with the guest of Honor coming in and hoisting the Flag and was then followed by the cultural program of Dance and music. The performers danced and sang to the tunes of the different directors of our era. The Topic being “A Tribute to the Music Directors- A. R. Rahman , Jatin Lalit , Anu Malik , Nadeem Shravan”. The crowd cheered the performers. It was a fun filled mela-gala day with music, masti, khana –khazana, mehandi, medical screenings, kid’s games and shopping for Jewellery and clothes.

Navratri Celebrations 2009

ISW celebrated its much anticipated Navratri Garba on Sept 19th at Marlborough Middle School to mark the opening of the Indian Festival season. The highlights of the event were well Decorated Venue, Saraswati Puja, snacks, prasad and unyielding spirit of many participants to dandia on the beat of live garba music by Jhankar group for four hours. The event was a great community union where volunteers once again exceed the expectations in making the event a great success.

The India Society of Worcester hosts a variety of Events on a yearly basis for all ages. From major yearly events like India Day and Diwali Functions to Weekly/Bi-Weekly/Monthly Health Workshops, Cultural Programs and Seminars.

ISW Annual Picnic

Annual ISW Picnic.

  • Potluck lunch - This year's theme was "Street food"
  • Games for adults and kids.
    You can come and play with us or just sit on your blanket and just CHILL....It's your choice. The park has Basket ball court, Volley ball court. a nice walking trail and we bring stuff to play Musical Chair, Pitoo and Cricket.
  • You can bring your own ideas and teach us a new game. We are totally up for it.

ISW's gala event for the year ! They Mayor Worcester declared this day the ndian Heritage day.

ISW day at Fenway

Jai Ho! - Indian Heritage Day at Fenway Park
ISW celebrated Indian Heritage day at Fenway park with National Anthem sung by ISW's very own MInakshi Biswas, followed by first pitch thrown by Ravi Lakshmikanthan. ISW's President Ragini Seth together with Treasurer Rajiv Dayal presented a check from ISW to Red Sox Charity.

Asian Festival 2009

On June 28th ISW co-sponsored 6th Annual South-East Asia Day at Italian-American Cultural Center - 28 Mulberry Street, Worcester, MA. ISW was part of the Cultural Program and hosted stalls of Indian Food. The event hosted cultural dances and food from various countries such as Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Laos, Korea, Japan, Philippines & India.

Spring Garba - Jhoom Masti Mein

Spring is Here - Jhoom Masti Mein
It was a beautiful, colorful and musical night at the ISW Center. Everybody danced to the live music played by our Musicians Mr.Vithal bhai, Radhi Navani and our volunteer singer Abhijeet Nikte. There was Garba Raas followed by Dandiya. Everyone including teenagers, adults and kids showed interest and enthusiasm to dance whether they knew or not. It was a big hit thanks to all the people who believed in having a night filled with fun, music and dancing to the tunes played beautifully by our Musicians.
