Day 2: August 30, 2026 - 9:00 AM -12:00 PM - Painting the idol made on day 1

Location: India Center, 152 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545

Registration:

Registration needed for all attendees

Workshop fees: $30 (Material included) Some tools will be shared with other participants.

Important notes:

The idol in clay will be made only on day 1, there will be no clay modeling on day 2
Children’s group - Ages 8-12. Parents are required to stay with the child.
Adult group - Ages 13 and up.

All the languages are welcome to attend assembly on Sundays.

We follow the Shrewsbury Public School protocols regarding some holidays masking and safe distancing. Click here for more details for last year.

The ISW Cultural and Language School was established in 1992. We believe that ‘a language binds a culture’ and we have a home base at our India Center Center in Shrewsbury, for our children who are the future of the Indian Community. Language and Culture are intertwined and we provide a safe place to learn, ask questions and participate in arts, music, activities and yoga.

The school will meet every Saturday & Sunday morning from September to May. We currently have 17 classes in 7 different languages (Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada) for all age groups, including Beginning Hindi for teenagers and adults. Conversational Sanskrit for adults

We will offer yoga, and cultural classes on Sundays, the schedule is sent in weekly newsletter.

Note that ISW offers free tuition if needed, due to financial hardship, contact us if you want additional information.

Painting one nail purple on the ring finger is often a symbol of support for domestic violence awareness and prevention, as part of the #PutTheNailInIt campaign by Safe Horizon.

Inviting community members to come together in solidarity for this crucial cause. Participants will have the opportunity to walk in purple to show their support and learn about available resources.
