Studies have shown that scams targeting older adults are on the rise. In 2022, there were 88,262 complaints of fraud resulting in $3.1 billion in losses from people age 60+.
The most common financial scams targeting older people include government impersonation scams, sweepstakes scams, and robocall scams.
Financial crimes against older adults can be devastating, often leaving people with no way to recover their losses.
This critical and pervasive issue is not restricted to any one geographical area or any one community . It is on the rise all across the globe .
To address this we have invited AARP member Mr Dennis Hohengasser to give us a quick run down as to how to protect ourselves from being conned or duped into loosing all are savings .
