Established in 1992 and based at the ISW India Center in Shrewsbury, the ISW Cultural and Language School believes that ‘a language binds a culture’ as Language and Culture are intertwined. We provide our children, who are the future of the Indian community, a safe place to learn, ask questions and participate in arts, music, activities, and yoga.

We currently offer 17 classes in 6 different languages (Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada) for all age groups, including beginning Hindi for teenagers and as well as Hindi for adults. We are planning to offer Conversational Sanskrit classes for adults in Fall 2023.

A typical school day includes an hour of language instruction, yoga and cultural classes.  Also in Fall 2023, we will offer Culture only classes, for kids who want to be connected to India.  By registering for it, you child can attend 60 mins of Yoga and/or Cultural activities.

Families need to be an ISW member to enroll as a student. Multiple siblings are eligible for a sibling discount. For siblings, please fill out the full form & pay separately again. Note that ISW offers free tuition, if needed, based on financial hardship. Contact us for additional information.

We use WhatsApp to keep parents informed of class activities and updates. We will add  your cell number to your student’s class WhatsApp group unless you choose to opt out.
