Events

The India Society of Worcester hosts a variety of Events on a yearly basis for all ages. From major yearly events like India Day and Diwali Functions to Weekly/Bi-Weekly/Monthly Health Workshops, Cultural Programs like Antakshari, Kavi Sammelan and more.

    Annual General Body Meeting 2025

    ISW Executive Board and ISW Governance Committee is pleased to announce that the upcoming General Body Meeting will  be on Sunday January 26th at 2:00 PM. It will be held at India Center, 152 Main St, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.

    Please use the link on left to register for attending the meeting in person, so we can plan accordingly.  Please use you ISW membership id to register if you wish to vote.

    You have to be dues paying member of ISW as of November 27, 2024, to pick up a ballot and vote at the meeting. If you are not attending, no further action is required.

    Agenda

    • The ISW Executive Board along with the supporting subcommittees will share the annual report with the General Body present.
    • Vote to elect ISW Executive Board.  Refer to the Slate in eSandesh.
    • Vote to approve the change in bylaws as commended by the Committee on Governance. (Please note there are no changes in the bylaws from 2024)

    ISWU & ISW Symphony Introductory PIANO/KEYBOARD lessons

    Age 8+ years, all welcome kids and adult, on Saturdays starting 1st February, bring your own keyboard. Need minimum two kids to start classes

    An Introduction to Piano/Keyboard by Suhrit Ghosh, IYG volunteer.  A very talented 10th grader.

    In this class, the fundamental basics of keyboard playing will be explored, including learning to read basic sheet music notation. This skill will help with learning to play simple songs as well. This class is oriented towards beginners with little to no experience.

    Participants should bring their own electric keyboard. Smaller-sized physical keyboards are acceptable.
