CRICKETING ACHEIVEMENTS AND AWARDS

❖ FIRST Captain of the KARNATAKA STATE TEAM and played for the State and the South Zone from 1973 till 1994.

❖ Captain for South Zone team till 1994.

❖ Represented INDIA against Australia in 1975 (Eve of the series) against New Zealand in 1976 as Captain of INDIAN TEAM (Eve of the Series) and as captain in 1976 West Indies series.

❖ First Indian to Score a Century in Tests for India when she scored 119 against New Zealand in the 4th test at Pune.

❖ First captain to have won a Test Match when India defeated West Indies in the Patna test in 1976.

❖ First to score a century for INDIA on foreign soil against NZ.

❖ Played for INDIA from 1975 to 1991 and was the first Indian to record 1000 international runs.

❖ Captain for INDIA TEAM from 1976 to 1985

❖ Coach of the INDIAN TEAM that played against Australia in India in1994.

❖ Chairman of the women’s selection committee by women’s cricket Association of India from 2001 to 2006.

❖ BCCI took over the administration of women’s cricket in India in 2006 and named me as Coach of Indian team in 2008.

❖ Chairman of the Indian Team Selection team from 2013 to 2017.

❖ First women cricketer to be nominated to the Cricket Advisory Committee of BCCI .The committee comprising of Mr.Kapil Dev,Mr.Ashnuman Gaekwad ,which chose the Head Coach of Indian women’s team (Mr. W V Raman) and Indian men’s Team ( Mr.Ravi Shastri).

❖ Pioneers to give Radio and TV Commentary for cricket Matches.

❖ Writing skills by contributing articles on cricket to Newspapers and Magazines.

❖ Mentored many women cricketers from Karnataka and other states and was responsible for many cricketers from Karnataka to scale greater heights.

❖ First women cricketer to have been elected to the Apex Council of BCCI for a three year term starting from 2019

2020 LIFE TIME ACHIVEMENT AWARD BY GOVERNMENT OF KARNATAKA.
