India Society Of Worcester (ISW) Sports-Chess Club organized a chess tournament on July 11, 2026. Thanks to the relentless efforts of the volunteers of India Society Of Worcester, passionate chess club team leaders, professionalism of players and unwavering support of their family members, the event was a huge success. There were 65 players divided into age based four teams. These teams were, Pawn team (under 9 years), Knight team (from 10 to 13 years), Bishop team (from 14 to 25 years) and Rook team (above 25 years).

Including chess team leaders, chess enthusiasts, volunteers, participants and their families, more than 120 individuals attended this event on 11th of July 2026. Five first, four second and two third winners would receive prizes on India Day August 8th 2026 (Free Admission) event @DCU Center. All the participants received a participation certificate.

We encourage all to attend India Day Event and be mesmerized by music, dance, fun activities, vendors , and the option to buy scrumptious ethnic food.

ISW Executive Team would like to give special thanks to the following individuals: Shiamin ji, Jay Ji, Vishwa Ji and Radhika ji for their encouragement and dedication. Vishwa ji, was our passionate Tournament Director, wearing many hats including being a Knights team leader. Youth volunteer leaders were Rohan, Anand and Tara who managed Rook, Bishop & Pawn teams respectively. IYG leader Ishita made the certificates creatively.

We have a big list of volunteers doing different tasks like managing check in, concessions corner, setup, clean up, professional photography etc. to thank. Many hands joined together to make this a memorable event. Finally, we thank all who supported us including our families and know that ISW belongs to all and we have many activities to uplift our community. Please become a member of ISW.

There might be some mishaps here and there but those were taken positively and addressed with empathy & promptness. We always request your very valuable feedback.
